The should be no need for callers to know the specific type of source
errors, but exposing them can lead to trickier crate dependency
management, so we now hide them.
Because we now use edition 2024, the default formatting by rustfmt is
different. Update the formatting, without any other changes, by running
`cargo fmt`.
